Watch Porn: Breitling Issues Limited Ref. 765 AVI 1964 Re-Edition

Breitling’s new Ref. 765 AVI 1964 Re-Edition is a faithful reproduction of the watch worn by French skier Jean-Claude Killy when he won gold in all three alpine skiing events at the 1968 Winter Games. First released in 1953, the original Ref. 765 AVI Co-Pilot was designed to serve pilots in the often unforgiving conditions of single-seat cockpits. Its oversized proportions, simplified style and ease of use made it popular with both pilots and watch enthusiasts.

With a reverse-panda dial surrounded by a black bezel, the ’64 765 AVI was a particular favorite of celebrities and sports stars – including Monsieur Killy. The Re-Edition maintains the original design with a true-to-the-time hesalite crystal, as well as the baton indexes and lumed pencil hands used on the original. To preserve the vintage proportions, the 41-mm watch is powered by the manual wind, in-house Caliber B09. Breitling also added some key updates, like the durable amorphous diamond-like carbon (ADLC) coating that gives the bezel its black finish. Available exclusively from Breitling in a limited edition of 164 pieces.
