Watch Porn: Breitling’s New Super AVI Collection Takes Flight

Breitling Super AVI P-51 Mustang

Breitling is leaning in. Long associated with aviation and topflight pilot’s watches, the new Breitling Super AVI collection was inspired by four legendary planes: the North American Aviation P-51 Mustang, the Vought F4U Corsair, the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, and the de Havilland Mosquito. While reflecting the individual characteristics of each aircraft, the four distinct models in the collection share one through line. They all take design cues from Breitling’s Ref. 765 AVI pilot’s watch introduced in 1953. An instant hit with professional aviators, it quickly became known as the Co-Pilot. Powered by the Breitling B04 self-winding mechanical movement, the Super AVI watches have bidirectional bezels, luminescent markers, and sapphire crystal case backs engraved with the silhouette of the corresponding aircraft.
