Bodega’s first Nike Dunk collaboration celebrates the crew of ‘local legends’ who frequent the brands original store on Boston’s Clearway Street. The shop, hidden in plain sight behind a secret door within its namesake facade for almost 15 years, “feels more like a barber shop when you come in — a lot of people just pull up for the conversation,” says Bodega Designer Drew White. “We often refer to it as a clubhouse in this way.”
Connecting two of Boston’s biggest sporting fandoms, the Nike x Bodega Dunk High respects the hi-tops basketball roots while adding nostalgic nods to baseball to the design. The uppers rich pebble leather, rawhide lacing and boot stitch detailing reference old-fashioned baseball mitts. Modern elements are incorporated with embossed ‘Bodega’ branding opposite a tortoiseshell, jewel Nike Swoosh.
