No one would mistake Kapital’s Creative Director Kiro Hirata for a minimalist. His exuberant mix of mid-century Americana, traditional Japanese make-do-and-mend stitching and heritage production techniques attracts critical praise and a devoted following. The Spring/Summer 2021 offering follows the brands well established playbook, with patchwork jeans, over-sized double breasted suits, faded and ripped utility pants, stylized camo prints, floral embroidery, appliqué and no shortage of smiley face patches. The look is authentically vintage and totally modern.
