Zenith uses the Defy collection as a platform for cutting edge mechanical watchmaking, adding gravity defying gyroscopic mechanisms, double tourbillons and eye-catching movements. The latest addition to the line is a striking, monochromatic edition of the El Primero chronograph. The Defy El Primero 21 Black & White Edition features a 44mm matte black, faceted ceramic case and a white ceramic bezel. The usually colorful bridges and oscillating rotor of the 1/100th of a second chronograph movement are treated in a stark achromatic palette. The 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, 60-second counter at 6 o’clock, and Chronograph power-reserve indication at 12 o’clock seemingly float above the blackened movement. As a finishing touch, a sporty black and white rubber strap completes the theme. The watch also comes with a second strap in textured black rubber.
