Panerai Goldtech™ is a gold alloy made with the addition of copper and platinum. The copper imbues the material with an intense red hue while the platinum prevents the Goldtech from oxidizing, extending the life of the watch. Like all Panerai timepieces the Submersible 42MM Goldtech is steeped in military history. The design of the rotating ceramic bezel was inspired by the L’Egiziano – an exceptionally large watch with a 60mm case created by Panerai in 1956 for the Egyptian Navy. The latest Submersible 42MM is also as durable as military-grade diving equipment with an Incabloc® anti-shock device, 10 bar (100 meter) water resistance, a black dial with luminous hour markers and an in house P.9010 automatic movement with a 3 day power reserve.
