After announcing his intention to launch a luxury watch collection earlier this year and offering a fleeting glimpse during his Fall/Winter 2018 runway show, Tom Ford has released images of his new timepieces. The Tom Ford 001 is available exclusively at Ford’s boutiques in New York, Beverly Hills and London. While Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Hermès have devoted tremendous resources in an attempt to crack the haute horlogerie market, Tom Ford’s watches will be slightly more accessible. The 001 is made in collaboration with Bedrock Manufacturing Company, the firm behind Shinola and Filson watches. Bedrock currently manufactures its watches with Swiss parts assembled in Shinola’s Detroit factory. This will be their first timepiece produced in Switzerland and sold at a designer price point. So both parties are new to the luxury watch game. But since launching his eponymous label in 2006 the designer and film director has proven time and again that he can make classic design sleek and sexy. It looks like the new Tom Ford 001 is no exception.
