Watch Porn: TAG Heuer’s Formula 1 Is Back With A New 9 Piece Collection

TAG Heuer is relaunching the iconic 1980s watch with a new core collection and selection of limited editions, inspired by the original Formula 1 Series 1.

TAG Heuer is relaunching the Formula 1. An icon of late 1980s style, the colorful, racing inspired watch never really went away thanks to collaborations with powerhouse brands like Kith and Red Bull Racing. The latest TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection introduces nine models, with a cutting-edge solar powered movement, larger case size, enhanced ergonomic design, and an eye-catching range of colors. Three of these form the core collection, in stainless steel with black, green, and blue bezels circling an off-white dial. The remaining six models are limited editions in bold color combinations: black and red, black and yellow, blue and black, white and green, white and red, and a green and red colorway.

Evolving from the original 35-mm models, the new 38-mm version retains key elements of the 1986 Formula 1 Series 1 watch. The re-engineered bidirectional bezel – in its iconic ’80s shape – is crafted from THPolylight, a new material for TAG known for its light weight, durability and limitless color possibilities. The bezel has also been modified to produced a mechanical sound when rotated, improving the tactile/sensory experience. Super-LumiNova treated indexes – a reinterpretation of the original shield-shaped markers – are now applied, elevating the watch’s appearance. In addition, the hands, inspired by the original design, have been reworked with enhanced finishings and proportions – improving legibility.
