The TAG Heuer Carrera Day-Date just got a refresh. Originally introduced in 1963, the Heuer Carrera was renowned for its timeless look, exceptional performance, and enduring connection to the world’s most celebrated motor racing drivers. This launch marks an evolution and distinct elevation, incorporating refined aesthetics and upgrades to the movement across six new models.
TAG Heuer’s TH31 movement powers all six models. Co-developed with Sellita AMT and produced exclusively for TAG, the TH31-02 (and the TH31-03 for the Twin-Time) delivers an impressive 80-hour power reserve. The movement also features high-end finishing, including a shield-shaped oscillating mass visible through the caseback. Particularly noteworthy models include; the Carrera Date Twin-Time ($4,850.00) with a vibrant teal dial complemented by a two-tone flange in teal and silver; a black grained dial model distinguished by its striking red lacquered central hand and vivid touches of blue on the dial ($4,000.00); and the signature Carrera blue model ($4,200.00) with a sunray-brushed dial finish.
To achieve a thinner, more refined shape, TAG updated the bezel geometry, resulting in a wider crystal opening. The dial construction has also been reimagined, with a three-dimensional aspect inspired by the TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox. This gives the watch a greater sense of depth and balance while improving legibility. The Victory Wreath engraving on the back of the 41-mm case is a subtle reminder of the Carrera’s link to racing history. Despite these enhancements, the Carrera Day-Date’s silhouette remains instantly recognizable.
