Gitman Vintage is mixing things up. For SS25 the quintessentially American brand expanded its mix of fabrics and inspirational references. Along with warm weather staples, like seersucker, linen and GV’s signature Zephyr Oxford, the collection includes; a new Ikat Madras fabric handwoven in Chennai, India – the birthplace of Madras fabrics; Japanese Dobby Stripes that reference Japan’s history of intricately woven textiles; and new Japanese Washer Stripe shirts made with sturdy 3.3oz cotton poplin. Standouts include the Rasta Stripe Oxford with tonal stripes of red, yellow, green, and black, an homage to the influence of Jamaican culture on American menswear. This seasons Archive Dishtowel Checks are another standout style. Inspired by the humble dishtowel and home comforts, these shirts are cut from a breathable woven fabric that’s perfect for layering. Rounding out the lineup is a capsule of summer-ready knit ties, including unlined styles in grenadine silk.
