Launched in 1968, Longines’ Ultra-Chron Diver made history as the first diver’s watch to feature a high-frequency movement. The model was relaunched in 2022 with a next-gen Ultra-Chron that combined the original design with the latest manufacturing technologies. Today, Longines continues to innovate with the Ultra-Chron Carbon, the brands first carbon fiber watch. Crafted from strips of carbon fiber mixed with epoxy resign, each 43-mm cushion-shaped case sports a unique pattern thanks to natural variations in the fibers. Both lightweight and durable, the watch is water-resistant up to 300 meters and weighs less than 80 grams – including the strap. The caseback, screw-down crown, and bezel are all crated from titanium. Beneath a sapphire crystal with multi-layer anti-reflective treatment, the anthracite dial features a chapter ring marked by twelve silver indexes and grey PVD hour/minute hands, all coated with a Super-LumiNova blue luminescence treatment.
Like the other models in the collection, the Ultra-Chron Carbon is powered by the Longines calibre L.836.6. Compared with conventional mechanical movements, this high-frequency movement offers greater stability in response to shocks and changes in position. Equipped with a silicon balance-spring and innovative components, this calibre is also highly resistant to magnetic fields. The Ultra-Chron Carbon is fitted with a black fabric strap secured by a titanium buckle.
