In 2021, adidas SPZL and C.P. Company teamed up to celebrate the Italian sportswear brand’s 50th anniversary by launching the Italia CP SPZL trainer. Now C.P. is returning the favor, reuniting with adidas for a new capsule collection marking SPZL’s 10th anniversary. The latest adidas SPZL x C.P. Company collection includes apparel, accessories and six unique sneaker silhouettes.
First up, the CP Wimberly SPZL is inspired by a rare perforated Canadian version of the adidas Universal from the 1980s. The White/Cream version ($130.00) uses white webbing for the 3-Stripes and cream leather for the upper. The second iteration features a khaki suede upper with bronze accents ($130.00). Next is the CP Helvellyn SPZL ($200.00), a winter-ready mid-top with sand colored suede overlays, grey ballistic mesh underlays, and gun-metal D-rings inspired by the ’80s adidas Nepal hi-top outdoor boot. The CP SL 83 SPZL ($140.00) takes inspiration from the adidas SL 82 with an added T-toe and a mix of materials to create varying shades of green on the upper. To round out the footwear, two SPZL icons make their return. The CP Manchester SPZL ($150.00) – one of the most sought-after silhouettes – is back and reinterpreted through C.P. Co’s lens, with premium materials, added eyelets and zig zag stitching on the stripes. While the CP Italia SPZL ($150.00) is brought back in premium blue leather with a matching suede T-toe and white leather stripes.
The collaboration’s apparel lineup offers fresh takes on pieces from both brands, integrating the design language of SPZL with graphic iconography of C.P. Company. The selection includes two outerwear jackets: the CP SPZL Puffer Jacket and the CP SPZL Flying Jacket. Both jackets boast the highest levels of Italian craftsmanship. Made from opaque nylon with a light resin finish on the reverse, each jacket features embroidered logo patches on the chest and C.P. Company lens on the left wrist, custom-designed for this collaboration. The fleece-lined collar of the Flying Jacket is a nod to vintage flight jackets. Other pieces include a logo tee, sweatshirt with the C.P. sailor outfitted head-to-toe in adidas SPZL, and a half zip knit which updates the first ever Mod Trefoil apparel piece from the very first season of SPZL in 2014.
