Birkenstock tapped Filson for its latest 1774 collection. Birkenstock 1774 is a sub-collection of the iconic footwear label featuring new interpretations of key styles, created in collaboration with designers, personalities and other brands. This capsule collection combines the shoemakers signature footbed and extensive experience with Filson’s legendary materials to create three styles, the Skykomish Boot, Lahti Boot, and London Methow Shoe.
Made with oiled nubuck leather and Filson’s signature Tin Cloth, the Skykomish Boot ($625.00) features Birkenstock’s Deep Blue footbed and sits on a cleated outsole. The four-layer sole includes a shock absorbing layer with an anatomic cork/EVA core stabilizer, bound together with braided jute. The boots are finished with textured rubber rands for moisture protection and side zippers for easy on and off.
Fully lined with moisture-wicking microfiber, the Birkenstock x Filson Lahti boots ($455.00) feature uppers made from a combination of dark green wool with oiled nubuck leather, or orange Mackinaw wool with suede. The traditional moccasin-toe construction creates plenty of room in the toebox and ensures comfort with every step. A limited edition Filson exclusive.
The 1774 London Methow Shoe ($375.00) updates one of Birkenstock’s first closed-toe styles with exclusive Filson features, including moccasin-toe construction and an antiqued brass ring strap system. Birkenstock’s time-tested footbed provides support. With an easy fit and feel, it boasts a rustic look with a choice of a brown leather upper or a mix of cinnamon colored suede with a brown leather rand.
