Neighborhood + Vans Drop Exclusive Version Of The Sk8-Mid

Neighborhood and Vans continue their long-running partnership with an exclusive take on the Sk8-Mid. To create the look Neighborhood’s design team studied the Mid’s predecessor – modified versions of the classic Sk8-Hi. The Sk8-Hi was a game changer when it was introduced in 1978, with a padded collar for ankle support and reinforced toe caps. It was the first high-top skate shoe to break onto the scene. By the early 1980s skaters started trimming the collars to create a DIY mid-top that straddled the line between a high and a low-top. Inspired by this street style, the Neighborhood x Vans Sk8-Mid 83 DX refreshes the original ’80s look with two monochrome colorways and custom graphics on the vamp, heel counter and midsole. Available in black or ‘natural’ suede from December 23, 2023.
