TAG Heuer is wrapping up its yearlong 60th anniversary celebration of the Carrera collection with the ultimate parting gift, a gold watch. The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph 39mm pays tribute to the gold watches Jack Heuer gifted to racing drivers in the early 1960s. This gesture helped establish the bond between TAG Heuer and the world of motorsports. Encased in 18K 3N yellow gold, the classic 39mm round gold case features seamlessly integrated lugs, user-friendly chronograph pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock, and a domed sapphire crystal perfectly following the curve of the flange. The curved flange amplifies visibility and simplifies the reading of the 60-second / minute scale that encircles the edge of the dial. To ensure optimal legibility, the black lacquered central hand creates a striking contrast against the gold-plated dial, and its vertical brushed finish – reminiscent of the racetrack markings. The dial also features contrasting black azuré subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock, reminiscent of the iconic reverse panda configuration. TAG’s in-house Heuer 02 chronograph movement powers the watch and produces an impressive 80-hour power reserve. The black perforated calfskin leather strap, secured with a gold pin buckle, enhances the timepiece’s connection to its racing-inspired heritage.
