Since its inception, Bell & Ross has borrowed technicality and stylistically from the world of aeronautics to create watches referencing cockpit instrument panels. The new BR 05 GMT Sky Blue celebrates the view from the cockpit, the azure horizon. Encased in B&R’s signature ‘circle in a square’ steel case, it’s powered by the calibre BR-CAL.325 automatic movement and displays two time zones, central seconds and the date at 3 o’clock on the sky blue dial. The two-tone 24-hour scale painted on the flange ring tracks PM hours on the sky blue top half and AM hours on the silver-tone bottom half. To optimize legibility, a fourth hand – tipped with a Super-LumiNova coated arrow – indicates the time in the original country. Buyers can chose between a stainless steel bracelet or a blue rubber strap ($5,000.00), perfectly matching the tint of the dial. Both attachments integrated seamlessly into the 41 mm case.
