The Red Clay Of Roland-Garros Inspired Adidas’ New Paris Collection

Stefanos Tsitsipas

The iconic red clay courts of Roland-Garros inspired Adidas’ latest tennis apparel collection. Designed to blend into the surroundings, the SS23 Paris Collection features camouflage-style prints in a palette of earthy tones representing the crushed stone, brick and shale used to construct clay tennis courts. The camo graphics are strategically placed to “disguise stroke preparation and movement” on what is considered the toughest playing surface in tennis. All the apparel pieces utilize Adidas’ HEAT.RDY and AEROREADY tech to maximize airflow and wick sweat during the most challenging moments of a match. Select pieces, including the FRL Polo and Tee, use FreeLift construction, a design feature in the arms that keeps the back hem in place through every serve and smash. First worn by Stefanos Tsitsipas and Sascha Zverev at the Monte-Carlo Masters men’s tournament, the collection was specifically engineered for the slow red clay of the French Open.
