Rolex is expanding the 42-mm Sky-Dweller range with three new variations equipped with the calibre 9002. Two of these models introduce new dial colors to the collection. The first is a blue-green dial only available in an 18ct rose gold case fitted to a matching Oyster bracelet. The variant fashioned in white Rolesor (a mix of Oystersteel and white gold) has a mint green dial – a color previously only available on the Datejust – with an Oyster bracelet. Rounding out the release is an 18ct white gold style with a black dial and a black Oysterflex bracelet.
Among the most complex movements designed by Rolex engineers, calibre 9002 includes a Chronergy escapement, Paraflex shock absorbers and a new oscillating weight. The movement powers the display of the hours, minutes, seconds, the date and month, as well as an additional time zone in 24-hour format. The 24-hour clock is displayed on an off-center disc that intersects with the cyclops date window at 3 o’clock. While months are tracked by red indicators in one of 12 apertures around the circumference of the dial at the extremity of the hour markers.
