Nike’s new Vaporfly 3 is an all-around racing shoe designed to support short, middle and long distance runners. Building on performance data from the Vaporfly 2, key updates include improved stability, a smoother transition and more energy return. The innovative new Flyknit upper and ‘reductive ZoomX mid-sole geometry’ keeps the shoe light and flexible. While Vaporfly’s signature carbon fiber Flyplate guarantees the propulsive response that made the original model a sensation. Graphics used on this first colorway reference the Vaporfly 3’s development process. Text on the mid-sole specifies a dedicated wear-tester’s ID number (20126-23) and counts the number of Flyknit upper iterations tested (57). Nike’s drop Swoosh set against the all-white upper is a direct reference to the first-ever Vaporfly worn at a test event in 2017.
