Todd Snyder’s first store in NYC was a pop-up on Elizabeth Street opened in 2013. The Todd Snyder + Champion City Gym retail concept proved so popular that the pop-up was open for 18 months. The original City Gym locker room cum store still inspires the designer today. Snyder’s latest New Balance collaboration echoes the stores aesthetic. Characterized by classic sweatshirt hues, rough-out trim and a varsity-style chenille N, the New Balance 237 City Gym has the comfy vibe of a favorite pair of worn-in kicks. “The varsity trend has only grown since we opened our first City Gym” said Snyder. “This sneaker taps into it, taking everything we love about old-school athletic style and presenting it in a new-school way.”
