For their first collaboration with Timex, Adsum chose a watch they found in the brands archives, the 36-mm stainless steel MK1 field watch. Originally produced for a short period of time for the US Marines, the MK1 has endured beyond its original purpose because of its utilitarian simplicity. Adsum customized the uncomplicated watch face with a few tweaks. Green luminescent dots, hand inserts and Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, set against a matte black dial, maximize clarity and legibility. While an easily interchangeable green slip-thru fabric strap or black slip-thru Perlon strap provides versatility. ‘I am present’ is the meaning of the Latin word Adsum. As a finishing touch the phrase is engraved on the back of each watch case.
