Huckberry and David Coggins created a ‘ruggedly elegant’ moccasin for their second shoe collaboration. An author, tastemaker and outdoorsman, Coggins took inspiration for the design from his travels to Idaho’s Sawtooth Mountains. The limited-edition ‘Sawtooth’ moc is handcrafted in Maine by Rancourt & Co. using Horween’s Natural Chromexcel – an undyed leather that ages beautifully and requires little break-in time. The extra supportive Lactae Hevea outsoles are made in France from 100% natural latex. To ensure the shoes lived up to expectations, Coggins took the first couple pairs out to Ketchum, Idaho last fall for a field test. As expected, the Lactae Hevea soles maintained traction on a variety of surfaces and the Natural Chromexcel leather uppers started developing a honeyed patina.
