Filson’s latest collaboration highlights the work of Rugged Seas, a Maine-based brand making tote bags and backpacks from upcycled fishing bibs. Focused on reducing the amount of waste going into landfills and supporting the local community, Rugged Seas donates a portion of all sales to the Maine Lobstermen’s Community Alliance and Main Coast Fishermen’s Association. The Filson + Rugged Seas Seaworthy Tote combines the outfitters rugged Tin Cloth fabric – canvas duck saturated with wax for maximum water-resistant – with the waterproof hauling bibs. Two layers of ripstop nylon line the interior, while a clip and strap secure the open top. Made with PVC-coated canvas from the repurposed bibs, each strap has its own unique markings. The limited-edition tote is available in three colorways.
