Jaeger-LeCoultre created the Reverso Tribute Enamel Tiger to mark the Lunar New Year and the opening of its new Shanghai flagship. Crafted in pink gold, the 45.5-mm watch features an opaque black enamel dial with faceted hour-markers, a railroad minutes track, and Dauphine hands – all perfectly matched to the pink gold of the case. Turning the case over reveals a tiger engraved into the enameled pink gold. The polished surface of the tiger’s coat and the contrasting rhodium-brushed texture of its stripes catch and refract the light to create the illusion of movement. The artisans in JLC’s Métiers Rares atelier spent 55 hours sculpting the case backs using the precise and exacting ‘modelled engraving’ technique. Each watch is made to order, giving clients an opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind timepiece with custom enameling, engraving, miniature painting or gem-setting on the case-back.
