Launched in 1962, the Autavia wristwatch collection was the first product introduced under the leadership of Jack Heuer. Initially used for dashboard timers in cars and aircraft in the 1930s, the Autavia name is a portmanteau of automobile and aircraft. To mark the collections 60th anniversary, TAG is releasing two new 42-mm flyback chronographs and the first three-hand GMT in the Autavia lineup. One of the flyback chronographs features a silver dial inside a polished steel case, while the second showcases a black dial inside a DLC-coated case. Powered by the newly developed Calibre Heuer 02 COSC Flyback movement, both models have a bidirectional rotating bezel, distinctive chronograph pushers, an extra-large crown, and a sapphire crystal front and back. The third model in the release is fitted with the Calibre 7 COSC GMT movement. The spanking new Autavia GMT 3 Hands has a two-tone ceramic bezel with black tracking the night and blue tracking the day on the 24-hour scale, and a blue sunray dial with luminous markers sitting inside a 42-mm polished steel case.
