Great Britain was at the heart of watch and clock making for 150 years. Bremont’s latest limited edition capsule pays tribute to this heritage, along with Britain’s role in developing standardized time. The groundbreaking Bremont Longitude features the ENG300 movement series – the first British made movement manufactured at scale for over 50 years. Along with the brand’s first in-house movement, each watch incorporates brass from the Flamsteed Meridian Line at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. The Flamsteed Meridian marks the position where John Flamsteed, the first Astronomer Royal, laid the foundations for accurate timekeeping and navigation – the beginning of standardized time. A ring of meridian line brass, etched with the longitude coordinates of the Royal Observatory, is visible through the watches exhibition case back. The theme continues on the metal dial, where debossed longitude lines create a raised central globe. A meridian line runs from the applied Roman numerals at 12H to the lumed 6H marker. Finally, the power reserve indicator at 6H references the red ball at the top of the Royal Observatory building.
Limited to 300 pieces total, Bremont will produce 75 Rose Gold ($23,995.00), 75 White Gold ($24,995.00) and 150 Stainless Steel ($16.995.00) Longitude watches with the ENG376 automatic movement.
