Yuketen’s Maine Guide collection draws inspiration from shoes worn by the pathfinders employed by trappers and traders in the New England Colonies. Influenced by the close-fitting wrapping of pliant leather worn by indigenous North Americans, these shoes are the forerunners of the classic American guide boot. Yuketen’s Fall ‘21 collection includes some key additions to the Maine Guide lineup, like a 7-eye Maine Guide boot built on a ‘50s moccasin last using Horween’s genuine shell cordovan; an 8-eye Maine Guide Trimmed DB boot made from Horween’s oiled Chromexcel leather and antique finish sheared sheepskin; a version of the Maine Guide DB boot in olive suede trimmed with brown Horween Chromexcel leather; and the Maine Guide Wingtip Quebec DB boot with a wingtip pattern leather overlay hand-sewn on the moccasin tip. Each pair is handcrafted in Yuketen’s Maine factory using genuine moccasin-construction.
