IWC and Hot Wheels released the limited edition Racing Works collector’s set to celebrate the 78th Goodwood Members’ Meeting. Aimed at enthusiastic amateurs rather than professional racers, the weekend long festival honors key figures in circuit’s history. The collector’s set contains a special Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition and a Hot Wheels replica of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Racing Works Edition, presented in a metal toolbox. The first set produced will be auctioned by Bonhams with the proceeds going to the Two Bit Circus Foundation, a non-profit working to inspire entrepreneurship in children.
The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition IWC x Hot Wheels Racing Works ($10,000.00) features a 43-millimeter case made of grade 5 titanium. The black dial is decorated with a chequered racing flag pattern surrounding three chronograph sub-dials. Depending on the light, the patterns laser-engraved squares alternate between a lighter and darker shade, giving the dial a textured appearance. Powering the chronograph is the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre movement, visible through the smoked glass case back. Each watch is fitted to a silver and black textile strap, which mirrors the colors of the IWC Racing Mercedes-Benz 300 SL ‘Gullwing’ driven in the festivals ‘Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy’ race.
