Audemars Pigue is expanding the Royal Oak collection with an intricately complicated chiming watch crafted entirely from titanium. The hand-wound Royal Oak Minute Repeater Supersonnerie produces exceptional sound quality and harmonic tone thanks to the case construction, striking regulator and patented gongs. Redesign for this limited production piece, the gongs are attached to a new device – acting as a soundboard – which boosts sound amplification and improves transmission. The striking regulator has also been redesigned with an improved anchor system to absorb shocks and eliminate unwanted noise. Audemars Pigue’s in-house, patent protected Calibre 2953 powers the minute repeater, hours, minutes and small seconds functions. Inside the 42-mm titanium case, the smoked grey ‘Grande Tapisserie’ dial fades to near black at the edges. The ombré effect sets off the white gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating.
