Creative Director Walter Chiapponi is moving Tod’s in a more contemporary direction through a process of evolution, not revolution. His subtle reinterpretations of signature elements give the designs just enough edge while maintaining a “sense of Italian good taste.” Case in point? The FW21 Desert Boot. Chiapponi set the boot on a maxi version of the nubby Gommino sole made famous by Tod’s iconic driving shoe. Crafted in Italy from hammered leather or suede, the boots have exposed stitching, grosgrain loops on the back, and a stamped Tod’s monogram on the vamp and heel.
