Adidas is launching an updated version of the popular Barricade tennis sneaker, just in time for the final Grand Slam of season. To improve the shoes durability, comfort and control, the new design incorporates feedback from top players Dominic Thiem and Maria Sakkari. Adidas used proprietary abrasion resistant material in the forefoot and eye stay areas, along with a unique split herringbone pattern on the sole, to improve the shoes durability on the USTA’s hard courts. GEOFIT ‘sense pods’ in the heel and perforations on the tongue combine with the BOUNCE mid-sole to provide improved fit, airflow and overall comfort. True to the Barricade’s DNA, stability is its defining feature. A 3D TPU shank and specialized lacing system ensure a glove-like fit and unparalleled control as players move around the court.
