Martin-Baker partnered with Bremont in 2007 to create a watch capable of withstanding the extreme forces pilots endure when they eject from an aircraft. A leading manufacture of pilot safety systems, the British firm provides more than 70% of the world’s air forces with ejector seats. The resulting MB Collection remains to this day the only mechanical timepieces to have withstood the rigors of live ejection seat launches. The new MB Savanna is latest addition to Bremont’s pioneering collection. Made in the UK with a 43mm Grade 5 titanium case, it’s powered by the modified calibre BE-36AE automatic chronometer with a 38 hour power reserve and exhibition case back. It has twin knurled crowns for setting the time and the inner rotating bezel, and an anti-shock movement mount. This desert-inspired model comes with sand-colored metal dial featuring a matching date disc and luminous hands and indexes. The black and yellow central seconds hand counterbalance symbolizes an ejector seat loop – and Martin-Baker’s seal of approval.
