Founded in 1951 by Viljo and Armi Ratia, Marimekko’s dynamic prints turned the Finnish label into one of the first global lifestyle brands, offering apparel, accessories and decor developed with a singular vision. Synonymous with 60s fashion, some of the firms earliest prints are still in production today. The adidas + Marimekko collaboration mixes past and present, using Annika Rimala’s Laine (wave) print from 1965 and Maija Louekari’s Räsymatto (rag rug) from 2009. Focused on women’s training and sportswear, the limited-edition collection also includes a few men’s and gender neutral pieces. The standout men’s piece is the Classic-Length Swim Short ($45.00), available now in Black/Carbon and Magenta/Red.
