adidas Leans Into Sustainability With New French Open Looks Made Of Recycled Ocean Plastic

Adidas leans into its commitment to sustainability with the 2021 French Open line. As they chase victory at Roland-Garros, Dominic Thiem, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Michael Mmoh will wear looks cut from Primeblue recycled performance fabric and manufactured using sustainable dye technologies – saving up to 60% of the water and energy traditionally used. Adidas created the apparels bold colors by blending just four pigments – red, blue, black and white – to expertly produce the purple, blue and grey shades seen throughout the range, complemented by base tones of black and white. This increased efficiency didn’t compromise the design. The layered materials make up the different shades and give the pieces an iridescent sheen that appears to change color as players move across the court. Alongside the apparel, Adidas updated the Adizero Ubersonic 4 and SoleCourt tennis shoes with the same purple and blue tones, strategically placed to highlight key technical details and completing the head-to-toe iridescent look of the collection.
