Watch Porn: Rado’s New Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Is The Result Of Years Of R&D

Rado has been a pioneer in ceramic watches for over 30 years. In 1986 the Rado Integral caused a sensation with its use of scratch-resistant high-tech ceramic in the bracelet. The launch of the Rado Ceramica in 1990 – with an integrated high-tech ceramic case and bracelet – solidified ceramic as the watchmakers signature material. Now, past and present come together with Rado’s iconic Captain Cook automatic available for the first time in High-Tech Ceramic.

The Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic collection includes: a two-tone version with a black ceramic case and bracelet, and rose gold colored stainless steel bezel ($3,700); a second version with a black high-tech ceramic case and bracelet, and hardened stainless steel bezel with black high-tech ceramic insert ($3,600); a similar version with the same case and dial but on a rubber strap ($3,300); and a fourth model with a highly distinct plasma-treated ceramic case and bracelet, topped by a stainless steel bezel with blue high-tech ceramic insert ($3,800). All four style run on Rado’s calibre R734, and are available for the first time in a 43mm case.
