Making its debut in 1978 for the Honolulu Marathon, the Nike Air Tailwind was a revolution in cushioning. Now, award-winning rapper Skepta breaths new life into the Tailwind series with his fifth SK Air collaboration. The Nike Air Tailwind V x Skepta merges the distinctive heel counter of the Tailwind V with the butterfly wing-inspired upper of the 2007 V Plus. References from past SK models and Skepta’s music career round out the design. The chrome Swoosh comes from the 2019 SK Shox, while the thermographic heel counter is a play on the cover art from his fifth studio album Ignorance is Bliss, shot by Manu S. Pillai using a thermal imaging camera.
Part of a capsule collection that includes a corresponding tracksuit and bucket hat, the Nike Air Tailwind V x Skepta will be available from April 2.
