The Air unit in the Air Max Pre-Day is fully exposed. Beyond the visual impact, embedding the unit between the midsole and outsole decreases the layers between the foot and the airbag – improving compression and creating more bounce with each stride. While the shoes engineering is new, its profile is reminiscent of the Tailwind and the Daybreak, Nike’s late ‘70s jogging classics. The streamlined design utilizes sustainable materials and minimizes material waste. Each pair is comprised of at least 20% recycled content by weight: the upper is 100 percent recycled polyester; the outsole about 13 percent Nike Grind Rubber.
