Sergio Lozano’s game changing Air Max 95 design is one of Kim Jones’ favorite Nike sneakers and the inspiration behind his latest collaboration with the brand. The Air Max 95 x Kim Jones sneaker mixes contemporary materials with retro elements, like a mini-Swoosh on the toe cap and a perforated upper reminiscent of the Air Max 360. Original Air Max 95 colors like Volt and Total Orange pop against an inverted gradient, keeping the nostalgia-leaning aesthetic fresh. The shoe’s translucent eye-stays panels – made with stretch-woven Nexkin – highlight Nike’s material innovations. The Air Max 95 x Kim Jones apparel capsule draws on Jones’ personal collection of vintage streetwear and long-term interest in the eye-catching appeal of Max Air. With neon colors and bold wordmarks, the designer says the garments use “an over-scaling of the logo to create [apparel] that is as energetic as the shoe itself.”
The Air Max 95 x Kim Jones capsule drops March 19 on SNKRS. The Volt Air Max 95 and High Voltage apparel release exclusively in the United Kingdom, while the Total Orange Air Max 95 and remaining apparel will be available globally.
