Before starting his families eponymous knitwear business in 1953, Ottavio Missoni competed with the Italian National Track Team in the 1948 Summer Olympics wearing the number 331. The new Missoni 331 Automatic Chronograph Limited Edition (€1,900/$2,265) honors Ottavio’s Olympic legacy with a range of sporty functions, including a tachymeter scale and chronograph counters. Rubber inserts on the top ring, crown and pushers, along with the brands signature wave motif on the dial, give the watch a distinctive look. Produced in 331 individually numbered pieces, Ottavio’s competition number also appears inlaid in blue on the continuous seconds counter and etched into the middle of the transparent case-back – which gives a glimpse of the Swiss Made automatic movement.
