Watch Porn: H. Moser & Cie. Champions Haute Horlogerie In The Age Of The Smart Watch

The Swiss Alp Watch ‘Final Upgrade’ combines smartwatch aesthetics with mechanical Haute Horlogerie.

In 2016 H. Moser & Cie. launched the Swiss Alp Watch series as a response to the expanding demand for connected watches. These special edition timepieces make the case for mechanical Haute Horlogerie while exploring modern aesthetics. H. Moser & Cie. marks the end of the collection with an extra special model, the Swiss Alp Watch Final Upgrade. Similar to previous models, the Final Upgrade looks like an Apple Watch, yet it is completely mechanical. To achieve the look H. Moser & Cie. crafted the dial from Vantablack with no logo or indices. Noted for its super saturated blackness, Vantablack is one of the darkest substances known, absorbing up to 99% of visible light. This dramatic background offsets the redesigned small second. Instead of the traditional sweeping second hand, a shaded disc indicator reminiscent of the all-too-familiar loading symbol continuously turns at 6 o’clock. Inside the DLC coated steel case, the in-house HMC 324 hand-wound movement produces a minimum power reserve of 96 hours. Limited to 50 pieces.
