In a move that reinvents presentation boxes and underscores the brand’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint, Breitling is replacing the large, heavy watch boxes that have long been an industry standard with a reusable, modular alternative created entirely from upcycled plastic bottles. To encourage recovery and reuse the entire box is made from PET plastic, which is among the most widely recyclable types of plastic. Once the box is no longer needed, it can be recycled at a dedicated facility where it will be fed back into the rPET cycle. The packaging has already been awarded the Solar Impulse Foundation’s Efficient Solution Label, given to initiatives that have a positive impact on the environment and the economy. Breitling’s new watch boxes will be available in early 2021. Read more at breitling.com.
