French brand Bell & Ross is expanding its BR 05 collection – the iconic square watch inspired by the square-set dials of early flight instruments – with a new chronograph style. The BR 05 Chronograph is available with a black or blue dial inside a 42mm stainless steel case with an integrated steel bracelet. “This type of design harks back to a category of watches which appeared in the 1970s and when infused with Bell & Ross’ signature identity, the resulting graphic style is both striking and modern” explains Bruno Belamich, the brand’s Creative Director. The shape of its two snailed counters (chronograph minute counter at 9 and small seconds at 3 o’clock) is another subtle 70s reference, and adds a retro edge to the BR 05’s sculptural design.
Powered by a highly accurate BR-CAL.301. automatic movement, the BR 05 Chronograph is also available with a black or blue rubber strap. The watches inner-workings can be observed through the exhibition case-back.
