Designer Charlie Casely-Hayford teamed up with Porter to deliver a limited-edition, 4-piece capsule of versatile nylon bags designed in London and crafted in Tokyo. Porter’s minimalist approach and focus on quality has won over a legion of fans, starting in 1983 with its Tanker model inspired by the US Air Force’s MA-1 flight jacket. This aesthetic mixes nicely with Casely-Hayford’s style of old school tailoring produced with a slouchy sportswear edge.
Showcasing both labels’ craftsmanship and innovation, the Casely-Hayford + Porter-Yoshida & Co. collaboration features a tote (£395.00) and rucksack (£399.00) in durable, weather-resistant resistant black nylon made to withstand everyday wear and tear. The ancient Japanese ‘kinchaku’ bag – traditionally made with kimono fabrics – is transformed into the durable Ballon Sac (£295.00), made with military green nylon trimmed with silver eyelets. While Japanese ‘boro’ stitching is incorporated into the Lift Waist Bag (£320.00), made with a patchwork of khaki-tone nylons. All of the bags are lined with midnight blue nylon, Casely-Hayford’s signature color.
