Across a quartet of brands – Chamula, Yuketen, Epperson Mountaineering and Monitaly – his clothes, shoes and accessories reinterpret elements of military fatigues, classic tailoring, sportswear and workworkwear with American, Japanese and ‘ethnic’ influences. Matsuda’s Monitaly Fall/Winter 2020 collection is a little sharper and more tailored, but his formula for success is basically unchanged.
