For Fall/Winter 2020, Levi’s Vintage Clothing revisits one of fashions favorite eras, the 80s. Head Designer Paul O’Neill assembled artfully mismatched, layered looks in colors and patterns inspired by the post-hardcore music scene of 1980s Louisville, Kentucky. Deceptively simple, the scenes uniform of choice was a pair of ’80s Levi’s 501 jeans with graphic tees, trucker jackets and DIY attitude. With their unorthodox approach to songwriting and anti-fashion style, the Louisville bands paved the way for Seattle’s 90s grunge subculture.
The standout piece from the collection is the oversized Coaches Jacket, a tribute to the kids from the ‘Ville. Decidedly normcore, its cut in the classic windbreaker style – pointed/folded collar, slash pockets – with the proportions of a winter coat. The jackets quilted interior lining, hidden hood and two-way zip closure will ensure you stay warm when the temperature drops. The insect print on the lining is repeated throughout the collection.
