Snow Peak reunites with New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio for a new collaboration inspired by fly-fishing gear. The Niobium Capsule turns waders, casting shirts and guide vests into utilitarian streetwear, cut from quick-drying performance fabrics embellished with zippers, straps and stash pockets. The name, Niobium, is a reference to a light gray metallic element used in alloys. The collections color scheme – slate, taupe, beige, black and sage – reflects this natural influence across apparel and footwear.
The collection introduces the Tokyo Design Studio x Snow Peak TDS Niobium Concept 1, a brand new silhouette based on high-performance wading boots. Designed by Snow Peak’s Lisa Yamai in collaboration with New Balance, the mid-top sneaker-boots have Cordura rip-stop uppers, Gore-Tex waterproof panels, ABZORB compression foam for cushioning through the midsole and a removable ankle collar.
