The new Hanhart 417 Bronze Chronograph is a faithful replica of the 417 ES worn by Steve McQueen during the 1964 International Six Days Trial (now the International Six Days Enduro), on of the oldest off-road motorcycle events in the world. Produced in collaboration with The Rake and Revolution magazine, this limited edition version measures 42 mm in diameter, the same size as McQueen’s late 50s 417 ES. To maintain the original dimensions, the Swiss watchmaker used a hand-wound chronograph movement, the Sellita SW 510, for a thinner profile. To give the watch an instant patina, the case is forged from bronze CuSn8, a corrosion-resistant alloy that mimics the look of vintage brass watches after their chrome coating has worn away.
Limited to 150 pieces, the Hanhart x The Rake & Revolution Bronze 417 Chronograph ($1,900.00) is available now from therake.com and revolution.watch.
