Aether Apparel and Veldt Helmets collaborated on a series of one of a kind motorcycle helmets being sold to benefit Riders for Health International. Started in 1986, RFHI partners with local healthcare NGOs and national Ministries of Health to facilitate vital health services in remote and under-served communities in seven sub Saharan Africa countries using motorcycles and motorcycle ambulances. Among the problems faced in many rural areas is the almost total failure of ordinary mechanical transport. Without reliable transport for health services, women die during child birth, infants fail to be immunized, and detecting and responding to infectious diseases with epidemic potential can take so long that the patient dies before the result is even known. The funds raised by this collaboration will help RFHI support riders, maintain equipment and improve rural health care outcomes.
Aether gave Veldt shells to 13 artist to create unique works of art. The artists include Rudy Shepherd, Erik Hanson, Rob Carter and New York based artists Susan Walsh, Damien Davis, Leah Tinari, and Ori Carino. 100% of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to RFHI.
