Valentino’s Pre-Fall ‘Dreamatic’ Capsule Reveals A Fantasy Future

Valentino’s Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli brings a couture sensibility to his men’s Pre-Fall 2020 Dreamatic capsule. At the center of the collection is an all-over, monochrome print featuring a bucolic landscape rendered in the style of a Dürer woodcut. Emerging from the landscape is a fantastical vision of tomorrow filled with “ultra airships, giant bridges, sci-fi animals” and unicorns, some in fluorescent colors. The print is embellished with intricate three-dimensional details created by micro glass beads and metallic embroideries, enriching the fabrics with couture level complexity.

Valentino recruited London-based film director and digital artist YH Fong to create the imagery used in the Dreamatic campaign. Fong blew up the all-over print and used digital editing to create a seamless background for models Jethro Sapon, Berko Fourdjour and Callum Heslop.
