As restrictions ease and cities reopen, luxury retailers face the challenge of luring high-end customers back into stores while health concerns linger, and shoppers can order almost anything they want online. One solution might be #IRL shopping – remember that. Audemars Piguet is giving it a try. The Swiss watchmaker is offering three versions of the Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph for sale exclusively in its boutiques.
The new chronographs are available with smoked blue, grey or green versions of Audemars Piguet’s “Méga Tapisserie” grid pattern dial, now adorned with Arabic numerals – replacing the usual applied hour-markers. The 44mm black ceramic case holds a Swiss made, in-house caliber 3126/3840 movement powered by the natural movements of your wrist. The smoked blue and green ceramic bezels have matching pushers and screw-locked crowns with titanium pushpiece guards. On the most expensive version of the new chrono, 18-carat rose gold replaces ceramic for the bezel and pushpieces. All three versions come on matching rubber straps with titanium pin buckles.
The new Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronographs ($34,900 to $42,900) are available exclusively in Audemars Piguet’s boutiques.
